Client Background Info:
In 2019, chefs Francesca Penoncelli and Mario Cassineri brought their new concept to the heart of Barrio Logan. When they first arrived in San Diego they brought something new to fine dining in the Gaslamp, through BiCE, the U.S. outpost of the chic Northern Italian eatery. With backgrounds in fine dining and Mario successfully launching several restaurants, people were excited for this new offering. Francesca sought to remove the rigidiness surrounding haute cuisine and deliver a fun accessible experience.
Challenges:
For Francesca Ciccia is the realization of a dream. A blend of innovation and creativity rooted in tradition. If you look closely on the walls, Francesca has her grandmother’s original handwritten recipes framed on the wall. In order to get the word out about this new direction the content had to be true to their Italian heritage and showcase their good-natured personalities. The connection between their roots, passion, and the food had to be captured genuinely.
Oso designed a strategy to supply them with updated professional headshots capturing their joy in cooking, interior and exterior shots showcasing the warm family atmosphere designed and cultivated by Francesca, and photos telling the story of each dish.

Through photos Oso captured the family atmosphere, the comfort of home cooking, and the joy of being surrounded by loved ones. Our photos have been published in various outlets such as @wheresandiego and San Diego Magazine to name a few. Used on their website, featured in more publications and press as people from all over the county came to try this new creation from a culinary power couple.
